Preparing for your Visa Application to the UK? Here are three things to take note of.
Preparing for travel can be a daunting task, with all the documents, bookings, filling out forms and time constraints. Here are three tips that can help you.
1. Cross-check that all documents are up-to-date
Applying for a visa is never a simple process. SO the first place to start is the international passport document. Check that it is valid and acceptable for travel (most visa applications may be rejected or put on hold if the validity of your international passport is 6 months or less). If you passport is valid for 6 months or less, or expired, you will have to begin the process of obtaining another international passport.
- Yellow-Fever Vaccination Card – usually valid for 10 years (visit https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/list for destinations that require yellow fever vaccination card)
- Tuberculosis Test Certificates – visit the UK Government website for more information – https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration
- Travel Insurance – if applicable
- Documents stating the purpose of your travel – Your invitation letter, Confirmation of Acceptance of Study (CAS) should be valid and state the reason for your visit and the duration of your visit.
2. Make sure your finances align with your reason for your travel
In order to successfully apply for a visa to the UK, your finances need to be in compliance with the UK government’s required for the specific class of visa. For study, you need to be able to show that you meet the requirement for your CAS, which is full study fees and living expenses. For business and tourism travel purposes, you need to show sufficient funds to cover, your accommodation, transportation and feeding bills conveniently, for the purpose and duration of your visit.
3. Complete the relevant applications forms for the class of visa for your proposed visit
For study visas, you need to fill out the Tier 4 Study visa and please look out for the class of visa that suits your class of study (visas for underage students are slightly different from PG study visas).
